All parents are members of this association, which organises various functions on a regular basis. The aims of the PTFA are to:
• Work with the school to promote a sense of partnership between parents, teachers and the wider community.
• Provide extra resources to enhance the education of the pupils.
Firstly, thank you for your support to date. We ran some of our normal fund raising events as well as introducing some new ideas:
We have been busy organizing the Christmas Fair which was held on the 2nd December and our Christmas Wrapping. This term we have organised various cake sales, the school disco and are due to hold our Easter Tea shortly. All parents are automatically a member of the PTFA. We understand that we all lead busy lives and can sometimes worry that we don’t have time to support the PTFA and its activities. However, this isn’t the case and you don’t have to commit to helping at every event – it might be just one event or one meeting a year that you can attend. Every little helps.
Mrs Tania Coatham is the chair of the PTFA and also a parent (year 4 The Hollies), and is happy for you to approach her to ask any questions. Mrs Linda Parfitt is the vice Chair and Miss Heidi Wainwright is the Secretary. Many members of the PTFA also come along to coffee mornings and the Class Acts of Worship. It really is a great way to get to meet other parents and support your child’s school. We are always looking for extra support and welcome new and old faces; you can contact Tania Coatham via the school office.
We hope to see you at some of the many events planned.
