Prayer Area The Willows Children from the Willows like to use our outdoor prayer area to sit quietly and enjoy some reflection time. They have added plants and a bug and bee home to this area so that they can observe and enjoy the wonder of our natural world.       
Family groups The Willows Each week the Willows join other children from every class in our Ilsham family for Family Group activities. They enjoy taking part in team games and challenges.
VE Day Celebrations The Willows The Willows embraced our VE Day celebrations with enthusiasm and enjoyed dancing to 1940s music and playing games from that era iwith their friends. They wore some amazing outfits. Some of the Willows came dressed as evacuees and explained to their friends why they had labels on their clothes, and the children though about how it must have felt for the children to be away from their families.
The giant magic bean maths challenge ! The Willows The Willows have loved using the giant magic beans in Maths this week and been amazing Solvasaurus Rex's. They have estimated and investigated how many beans different containers would hold and have recorded their ideas.
The terrifying giant at the top of our beanstalk The Willows The Willows created their own enormous beanstalk and scary giant and this experience helped them to think of  some amazing descriptive power words when they wrote their own scary beanstalk stories. Fee Fi Foe Fum, the Willows gruesome giants are coming !e 
The Willows Moon Picnic The Willows The Willows loved the alien stories Q Pootle 5 and Aliens in Underpants Save the World. They were all fantastic at using their imagination to create their own aliens and wrote descriptions of their aliens so that they could play Guess the Alien with their friends. The children made their alien a passport so that they could take it to our space picnic and they all enjoyed t'starberry' jam star sandwiches, especially our class bear Bingo !
Space Investigations with the Willows The Willows The Willows have been amazing space investigators ! They were visited by a Geologist who showed them some real pieces of meteorite and they discovered how craters are madeon the moon. The children explored making their own moon surface and used flour and marbles to create the effect of asteroids hitting the moons surface.
The Willows Growathon project The Willows The Willows have been investigating growth and change as part of their Understanding of the World learning. They have looked closely at what is growing in our Ilsham green house and have planted their own beans and sunflower seeds.

Mothers' Day Prayers The Willows The Willows listened to some prayers that had been written by other children for their Mums and then they wrote their own prayers and added them to the outdoor prayer area.
